Overview
VersaLink Keeper is an iPhone app developed by VersaGal Digital. This policy covers the app and related support communications.
Your collection and preferences
The app stores saved URLs, titles, notes, tags, folders, favorites, archive status, dates, and appearance preferences locally on your device. You do not need to create a VersaLink Keeper account.
We do not include advertising or analytics services in the app. We do not sell your saved collection, track you across apps for advertising, or operate a server that receives or synchronizes your library.
Automatic link previews
Automatic previews are enabled by default. While you add or view links, the app may request titles, channel names, and thumbnail images from the linked website and its image providers. YouTube video previews use YouTube’s public preview service and image servers. Other websites may supply previews through Apple’s Link Presentation framework.
These requests disclose the requested link or video URL and normal connection information, such as your IP address, to the services contacted. Your notes, tags, folders, and the rest of your saved collection are not included in the preview request. A URL itself may contain personal or private information, so consider this before enabling previews for sensitive links.
Turn off Settings → Link Previews → Automatically Fetch Previews to stop new preview requests. Previously cached titles and images may still appear. Previews are optional; a link can be saved without one. Availability depends on the destination website, and private or restricted content may have no preview.
Fetched metadata and thumbnails are cached on your device. This temporary cache is separate from your saved collection, may be cleared by iOS, and is not included in the app’s JSON exports. A preview title that you choose to save becomes part of your link record.
Third parties handle requests under their own policies, including Google/YouTube, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), and TikTok. VersaGal Digital does not control their practices.
Opening, copying, and sharing links
Opening a link takes you to a website or installed app, which receives the information needed to open it and applies its own privacy practices. When you choose Copy or Share, the selected link information is placed on the clipboard or passed to the destination you choose. We do not send your collection to other apps automatically.
Backups, imports, and exports
JSON backups contain your saved collection and appearance settings. CSV exports contain saved link details for use in spreadsheets. These exported files are not encrypted by VersaLink Keeper; anyone with access to them can read their contents. The Files location or sharing service you select may store them on another device or in a cloud account.
The app keeps up to seven daily local recovery copies, captured on days you use it, plus a safety copy from before the most recent restore. Recovery copies stay on your device and are excluded from device backups. They are not an external backup or synchronization service.
Apple’s device backup services may include the app’s main database, depending on your device settings. Apple handles those backups under its own policies. This is separate from the app’s local recovery copies.
Import and recovery restore replace the current collection. Exported files and device backups you created elsewhere remain under your control and are not deleted when you remove a link in the app.
In-app purchases
Apple processes the optional one-time lifetime unlock. The app uses transaction and entitlement information supplied by Apple to confirm access to paid features. We do not receive your full payment-card details, and purchase verification does not send your saved links to us. Apple handles purchase information under the Apple Privacy Policy.
Retention and deletion
Your saved collection remains on your device until you delete records, replace the collection during a restore, or delete the app. Deleting the app removes its local collection, recovery copies, and preview cache. Offloading an app is different from deleting it and can retain its data.
Deleting a link does not immediately erase it from an older recovery copy, preview cache, exported file, or device backup. Daily recovery copies roll off as newer copies are created, and the safety copy is replaced before the next restore. Manage external exports and device backups separately. We cannot retrieve or erase a local collection for you because we do not hold a server copy.
Support communications
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, such as device details, screenshots, or a description of the issue. We use this information to respond, troubleshoot, and keep track of the request. Our email providers process those messages to deliver and store correspondence.
We retain support messages for as long as reasonably needed to handle your request and related follow-up, or to meet applicable legal obligations. You can request deletion of support correspondence by emailing our privacy address. Please avoid sending sensitive links or full backups unless they are needed to investigate a specific issue.
This website and external services
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages, whose hosting service may process technical information about visits. The music section embeds Spotify, which may receive connection information when its player loads. Those website services are separate from the VersaLink Keeper app. See GitHub’s privacy statement and Spotify’s privacy policy for their practices.
Children’s privacy
VersaLink Keeper is a general-audience productivity app and is not directed specifically to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through support communications. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information to us so we can address it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app’s features or our information practices change. The effective date above identifies the current revision.
