VersaPickle Ratings

Privacy policy

Your connected account, roster lookups, and downloaded history—explained.

Effective date: September 23, 2026 · Development and beta builds

Overview

VersaPickle Ratings is an iPhone app developed by Cindy Isip under VersaGal Digital. This policy covers development and beta builds, this app’s web pages, and related support communications. Feature availability may differ between builds. The purchase section applies when Ratings Plus purchases are enabled.

The short version: The app connects directly to DUPR when you sign in, look up players, or download history. Saved rosters and downloaded matches stay on your device; VersaGal Digital does not operate a server that receives or synchronizes them. Demo mode uses separate, fictional data. If you buy Ratings Plus in a build with purchases enabled, Apple processes the transaction and receives the account-link identifier described below. If you email support or export a roster, you choose the information you send outside the app.

Information the app handles

The app processes names you enter or extract from selected screenshots, lookup filters, and information returned by DUPR. Returned information can include player names, identifiers, profile details, locations, singles and doubles ratings, event dates, match scores, partners, opponents, and historical rating changes.

It uses these records to match roster entries, display ratings, plot progression, and calculate statistics for downloaded matches. Saved rosters, downloaded history, and app preferences are stored locally. Temporary roster lookups remain in memory until you choose to save them.

There is no separate VersaPickle account, public player feed, advertising SDK, or third-party analytics service in the current app. We do not receive a server copy of your rosters or history and do not sell them.

DUPR connection and account link

Your sign-in information, verification codes, player searches, history requests, and optional location filters are sent directly to DUPR over HTTPS. DUPR receives these requests and normal connection information, such as your IP address, and handles it under its own privacy policy and terms.

The app stores your session credential, email, connected profile, and a separate account identity link in the iPhone’s Keychain. It does not save your password or verification codes. The identity link contains the connected player’s name and DUPR identifiers and is used to keep the app linked to the same account.

Keychain entries are configured for this device and are not synchronized through iCloud Keychain. Signing out removes the app’s saved session but retains the identity link. See Retention and deletion for what each action removes.

Roster screenshots

You choose the screenshots to import. Text recognition runs on your iPhone using Apple’s Vision framework. VersaPickle does not upload or retain the screenshot image as part of a roster.

You can review and edit recognized names before running a lookup. Those names are sent to DUPR when you initiate the lookup. Your original image remains wherever you selected it from, unless you delete it there separately.

Optional location filtering

Location is optional. You may choose Anywhere, search for a place, or use your device location after granting permission. Place searches and location-name resolution use Apple’s services. The selected coordinates and search radius are included in player lookup requests to DUPR.

Use my location requests an approximate location for that action; the app does not provide background location tracking. The chosen location filter is stored locally if you save the roster. You can change the filter to Anywhere and manage location permission in iOS Settings. Apple handles its services under the Apple Privacy Policy.

Demo mode

The interactive demo uses a fictional player profile, rosters, and matches stored separately in memory. Demo lookups and history do not contact DUPR or use your real session. Sample location filtering uses predefined cities and does not request device location or Apple Maps searches.

The sample roster image is processed on your device using the same text-recognition feature. You can also choose your own images; extracted names used in demo mode are matched against the fictional directory rather than sent to DUPR.

Demo changes are discarded when you exit, reset the demo, or the app process ends. Your real account, saved rosters, and downloaded history are unaffected. Demo CSV exports are labeled as fictional samples and remain wherever you choose to save them.

The Show demo on Home preference is stored on your device. It controls demo shortcuts on Home and the sign-in screen and remains saved between launches.

Ratings Plus purchases

When enabled in your build, optional Ratings Plus purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. The app receives Apple-verified transaction information to determine whether features should be unlocked, restored, or removed after a refund. VersaGal Digital does not receive your payment-card details from the app.

To link one purchase to one DUPR identity, the app derives a stable opaque identifier from your verified DUPR user ID and sends that identifier to Apple with the purchase. It is a pseudonymous account-link token, not your DUPR password or sign-in code. Apple includes the token in the transaction information returned to the app.

Restoring feature access requires the same purchasing Apple Account and the same DUPR identity. The app does not send your roster contents, match history, or DUPR password to Apple as part of this purchase. Apple processes and retains purchase information under its privacy policy.

Clearing local history or disconnecting DUPR does not erase Apple’s transaction records or unlink a purchase from the original DUPR identity. Restoring a purchase does not restore or synchronize your saved rosters and matches.

Local storage and exports

Downloaded match history and saved rosters are kept in the app’s protected storage and configured to be excluded from device backups. The current app does not provide cloud synchronization or automatic transfer of that history to another device.

A roster CSV export contains the selected roster results and is passed to the app or Files location you choose. Exports are not encrypted by VersaPickle. The selected destination may upload them to a cloud service and has its own information practices. Manage exported copies separately from the app.

Retention and deletion

  • Demo data: discarded on exit, reset, or process termination. The demo-visibility preference remains saved on your device; exported demo files remain in your chosen destination.
  • Temporary lookups: remain in memory until saved, discarded, or the app process ends.
  • Saved rosters: remain until you delete them in the app or delete the app.
  • Downloaded history: remains until you use Account → Clear downloaded history & sign out, or delete the app. Clearing history leaves saved rosters in place.
  • Session: removed from the app when you choose Disconnect DUPR or Clear downloaded history & sign out. Disconnecting alone does not erase saved history.
  • Linked identity: retained in Keychain after disconnecting or clearing history, so the app stays linked to the same DUPR account. The current version has no in-app control to erase this identity link or switch accounts. Keychain items can remain after app deletion; deleting the app is not a guaranteed way to erase them.

Offloading an app can retain its documents and data and is different from deleting it. Exported files and support messages are separate copies. Removing local data does not alter or delete your DUPR account or records; manage those through DUPR.

VersaGal Digital cannot remotely retrieve or erase your device’s local records or Keychain entries. For privacy questions or requests about information sent to us, email privacy@versagaldigital.com.

Support communications

If you contact us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include, such as app and device versions, screenshots, or a description of an issue. We use this to respond and troubleshoot; our email providers process messages to deliver and store the correspondence.

Support messages are retained as reasonably needed to handle the request and follow-up, or to meet applicable legal obligations. You may request deletion by contacting our privacy address. Never send passwords, verification codes, or session tokens. Share only the records needed to explain your issue.

Website and other services

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. The hosting provider may process technical visit information, including your IP address. These VersaPickle pages do not add analytics, advertising, or embedded third-party players. The separate music page includes a Spotify player, which may receive connection information when loaded.

See GitHub’s privacy statement and Spotify’s privacy policy. Following an external link or emailing us uses the destination’s services and policies.

Children’s privacy

VersaPickle Ratings is a general-audience pickleball tool and is not directed specifically to children. DUPR’s age and account requirements apply to use of its service. If you believe a child has sent personal information to VersaGal Digital through support, contact us so we can address it.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when app features or information practices change. The effective date above identifies this revision. Changes involving synchronization, new purchase behavior, or additional services will be reflected here when the app’s information practices change.
