Frequently asked questions
Is the app available yet?
VersaPickle Ratings is in development for iPhone and is not yet available on the App Store. Release details will be posted on the product page.
Do I need a VersaPickle account?
No separate VersaPickle account is needed. The demo works without signing in. Live lookups and history downloads require your own DUPR account and any verification DUPR requests. Your available data depends on that account’s access.
How do I try the demo without signing in?
- Open Home and tap Connect your DUPR account.
- Leave the sign-in fields blank and tap Try Demo without signing in. Scroll within the connection screen if needed.
- Look for the Demo mode banner. Open Demo · Tuesday Ladder in Rosters, explore Progress, or search for Maya Chen in Matches.
For screenshot import, create a roster, choose Screenshots, and tap Read sample roster image. The sample goes through the app’s on-device text recognition. Exported demo CSV files are marked as fictional samples.
No DUPR credentials or connection are needed. The small Try Demo button below the tools on Home opens the same demo. This is a feature inside the iPhone app; the website gallery is a preview.
Where is the demo button? Can I hide it?
Go to Account → Demo → Show demo on Home. This switch controls both the Home and sign-in demo shortcuts, and your choice is remembered after restarting the app.
With no preference set, new users see the shortcut. It is hidden once a real DUPR account is linked, including after signing out. Turn the switch on if you want to explore the demo again. Exit Demo remains available while you are in demo mode.
Will trying the demo change my real data?
No. The fictional profile, rosters, and match history are kept separately in memory. Exit Demo returns to your real account and saved data. Account → Reset Demo restores the original sample content.
Demo edits are discarded on exit, reset, or when the app process ends. Backgrounding alone does not reset an active demo. CSV files you explicitly export remain in the destination you choose.
Demo location filters use sample cities and do not request your location. Demo ratings and lookup results are fictional, not live DUPR data.
Can I sign in with a different DUPR account?
The current version links to one DUPR identity. Reconnect with that same account. Signing out, clearing history, or changing the email on the same DUPR identity does not make the app available for another player’s account.
If the connection looks wrong, contact us before taking further action. See the privacy policy for how the account link is retained.
How do I look up a roster?
Open Lookup Rosters, paste player names or choose roster screenshots, and review the extracted names. Choose a location filter or Anywhere, then start the lookup. Review ambiguous profiles before saving or exporting results.
New lookups are temporary until you choose Save roster. You can also discard them. Screenshots are read on your iPhone; there is no direct CourtReserve account connection.
Why did a name match the wrong player—or no player?
People can share names, spell them differently, or have a profile location that differs from where they play. Review alternate profiles and available identifying details. Try another spelling or a wider location filter. A missing result does not prove someone has no DUPR account.
How do I see history from two years ago?
In a build with Ratings Plus enabled, open Progress or the download controls in Match Lookup, load recent matches, and continue downloading older history in batches until you reach the dates you want or the end returned by DUPR. Choosing 2Y changes the graph’s view; it does not download more matches.
There is no fixed one-year cutoff in VersaPickle. Older records must be both available from DUPR and downloaded. An empty period alone cannot tell us whether records are missing.
What do the graph dots and colored lines mean?
Up close, dots represent rated match records; zoomed out, they can represent events. Tap a dot to open its details. Purple dividers separate events. Red dashed connectors represent longer breaks with no downloaded matches and compress the empty time.
Horizontal spacing emphasizes rating progression, not elapsed time. A connector does not add or reconstruct missing matches. A DUPR match record may contain more than one game.
Why is a rating shown as NR, or a change unavailable?
NR means the historical rating is unavailable in the returned data. VersaPickle does not substitute a current rating for a missing past rating. Starting ratings, ending ratings, and rating movement are shown when DUPR supplies them; rounding can make displayed values differ slightly.
How do I find matches with a partner or against an opponent?
With Ratings Plus, open Match Lookup, choose singles or doubles, and enter all or part of a player’s name. Select the player, then choose partner or opponent where applicable. Singles searches show opponents.
This searches downloaded matches only and makes no DUPR request. Check the match count and date coverage shown above the results. Download more history separately if you want broader coverage.
How should I read the matchup statistics?
Statistics summarize the returned, downloaded records for your selected player and match format. Win percentage uses matches with supported, recorded results; missing or unsupported results are not assumed to be losses. Rating movement uses available recorded changes. One match can contain multiple games.
Small samples and different partners or opponents affect comparisons. The results describe those matches; they do not predict a future match.
Does the app download all my history every time?
No. Downloaded matches are cached on this iPhone. Once the initial history download is complete, recent refreshes check for new records and overlap with saved history. An interrupted update can be continued.
Older edits or removals may require a full history recheck. Browsing the graph or searching saved matches does not refresh the data automatically.
What is planned for Free and Ratings Plus?
The planned free tier includes three other players per roster plus your own profile, your latest five downloaded matches across singles and doubles combined, and fictional sample previews. Ratings Plus adds larger rosters, older available history, full history rechecks, and searches of your real partner/opponent matches.
Ratings Plus is planned as an optional one-time purchase. Availability and the final price will be shown in the app. Compare the planned features. Development builds may differ while the release is finalized.
Saved rosters and history are retained if Plus access ends; free views show the allowed subset. Purchasing Plus never increases the records DUPR makes available to your account.
How will I restore Ratings Plus?
In a build with purchases enabled, connect the same DUPR account used for the purchase, use the purchasing Apple Account for the App Store, and choose Account → Unlock Ratings Plus → Restore Purchases.
The purchase is linked to one DUPR identity. If an account-link mismatch appears, reconnect the original account or contact support. Restoring the purchase restores feature access; it does not transfer rosters or downloaded history from another device.
How do I send feedback during TestFlight testing?
Use TestFlight feedback or email support. Include your iPhone model, iOS version, app build, steps to reproduce the issue, and what you expected. Say whether you were in demo mode or connected to DUPR. Screenshots help; remove private details before sharing.
TestFlight availability depends on your invitation and the build’s testing status. The app is not yet publicly available on the App Store.
What if sign-in fails or DUPR limits requests?
Reconnect with the same DUPR account and complete any required verification. Check that you can sign in through DUPR directly. If a cooldown or service restriction appears, stop retrying and wait for the indicated period.
VersaPickle cannot override DUPR restrictions or account access. For DUPR account, rating, or record corrections, use DUPR Support. For an app display or navigation problem, contact VersaGal Digital.
How do I clear data or disconnect?
In Account, Disconnect DUPR removes the saved session, but does not delete saved history or rosters. Use Clear downloaded history & sign out to remove downloaded history and the session. Delete saved rosters separately.
The linked DUPR identity remains in the device’s Keychain. These actions do not delete anything from DUPR. Read the retention and deletion details, including app deletion and exports.
